    Chris Granert

    Chris Granert started fencing in 1997 in his early 20s. He qualified for the Philippine National Games that year and placed 8th in men’s epee. He then helped start and was the assistant coach of the University of the Philippine’s Fencing Club, the first fencing club in the Philippines outside the capital city of Manila. In 1999 he moved to Florida and joined the Jacksonville Fencing Club, becoming assistant coach. He also gained his B rating in epee during his stay in Florida. In 2004 he moved to Toronto and continued teaching at the Metro Blades Fencing Club.
