    Adrian Liggins

Adrian started fencing in the UK in 1984.  A traditional start in foil led to sabre and then epee.  Between 1986 and 1989, he was men’s captain (all three weapons) at the University of Salford , receiving “full colours” for sports services to the University.  Between 1988 and 1990, he was selected to the North West (UK) Sports Council Centre of Excellence for epee by the North West Amateur Fencing Association (NWAFA), based on competition results.  In 1989, he captained the North West England men’s epee team and was subsequently awarded “colours” by the NWAFA.

Moving to Canada in 1990, Adrian continued to compete, achieving a B competitive grade in men’s epee.  At the same time, he started teaching and coaching fencing at various clubs, including service as an Assistant Coach at the University of Western Ontario , responsible for the women’s sabre team.  His professional background is biomechanics, the knowledge of which he brings to his coaching style.
