Karry Lam

Karry is both a registered physiotherapist and a registered acupuncturist. She graduated in Hong Kong with a professional diploma in Physiotherapy in 1990. After graduation, she worked in some of the major hospitals in Hong Kong, which helped her gain experience in varies specialties. Karry got her Master Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 1998. She has completed training in acupuncture by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in 2007.

Karry believes in the philosophy of life-long learning and has also completed many post-graduate courses. These include Robin McKenzie Levels A and B, Kinesiotape Course 1 & 2, Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy Level V2/V3 & E2/3, Myofascial Release for Orthopedic and Neurological Patients, Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Level 1 and Level II, and has undergone mentorship with two traditional Chinese Acupuncturists for many years. She was also trained by Dr. Huang Lichun, a world renowned ear acupuncture specialist.

Karry has extensive experience working in various treatment settings ranging from acute hospitals inpatient, private practice, and outpatient rehab. As a result, she has experience working with individuals of all activity levels and capabilities. Karry’s physiotherapy practice involves manual therapy, active exercises, modalities, as well as education. In her acupuncture practice, she has treated patients with insomnia, depression, stress, acnes, and pain. Her religion and strive for excellence directly influence her clinical practice, resulting in positive outcomes and improved overall wellbeing.

Karry is now working as the physiotherapist lead in the hand clinic of Markham Stouffville Hospital. She also works in an outpatient clinic as both physiotherapist and acupuncturist.
